Job Overview

The Maybourne Beverly Hills Hotel is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our dedicated facilities team. Position Summary

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our hotel by performing a variety of maintenance tasks. Your hands-on experience will be vital in maintaining a welcoming environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including lighting, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
  • Address mechanical and electrical issues in kitchen and laundry equipment.
  • Assist in engineering projects as directed by the Director of Engineering or management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance and storage areas.
  • Ensure all fire safety equipment is functional and up to code.
  • Communicate with department heads regarding significant repair needs.
  • Keep maintenance tools in good condition and properly stored.
  • Support other departments with maintenance-related tasks as required.
  • Adhere to all safety and security protocols, including OSHA and ADA regulations.
  • Assist fellow technicians and mechanics in various repair tasks.
  • Resolve heating and air conditioning issues in guest rooms.
  • Perform maintenance on kitchen appliances.
  • Diagnose and address plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other system issues effectively.
  • Execute complex repairs, including electrical circuits, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and minor carpentry.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior maintenance staff as necessary.
  • Report to work punctually and in appropriate uniform.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hotel setting.
  2. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical or trade school certification is advantageous.
  3. Possession of an EPA Universal HVAC license, PM Tech certification, or CPO issued by Los Angeles County is preferred.
  4. Strong understanding of maintenance practices, tools, and systems.
  5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs, including furniture and maintenance supplies.
  • Capability to stand, walk, and move throughout the hotel for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to access equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Willingness to climb ladders and scaffolding as necessary.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and precise hand-eye coordination.
