Position Summary

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the hotel’s physical infrastructure is maintained to the highest standards. Your expertise will help us uphold our commitment to providing a memorable stay for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including lighting, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
  • Performing necessary repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.
  • Assisting with engineering projects as directed by the Director of Engineering or management.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in storage and maintenance areas.
  • Ensuring all fire safety equipment is functional and compliant.
  • Alerting department heads regarding significant repair needs.
  • Keeping maintenance tools in optimal condition and securely stored.
  • Providing support to other departments as required.
  • Adhering to all safety and security policies, including OSHA and ADA regulations.
  • Assisting fellow technicians with repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Addressing guest room heating and air conditioning issues.
  • Maintaining and repairing kitchen equipment.
  • Diagnosing and resolving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building system issues efficiently.
  • Executing complex repairs and maintenance tasks, including electrical circuits, plumbing systems, HVAC units, and minor carpentry.
  • Offering guidance and training to junior maintenance staff as needed.
  • Reporting to work punctually and in a clean, professional uniform.
Qualifications

Required:

  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hotel environment.
  2. A high school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is advantageous.
  3. Possession of an EPA Universal HVAC license, PM Tech certification preferred, and CPO certification from Los Angeles County is a plus.
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance procedures, equipment, and systems.
  5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Willingness to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs, including furniture and maintenance supplies.
  • Capability to stand, walk, and move around the hotel for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to access equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Willingness to climb ladders and navigate elevated areas as required.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and precise hand-eye coordination.
