Position Overview

We are currently in search of a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to become a part of our dedicated maintenance team within a vibrant senior living community.

The daily responsibilities of the Facilities Maintenance Specialist include managing service requests, performing repairs in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance systems, as well as overseeing exterior maintenance tasks. This role is crucial in ensuring the property maintains an exceptional appearance, which encompasses the upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, and community facilities. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to juggle multiple tasks while providing outstanding customer service. Each day presents new challenges, as adaptability is key. Additionally, the role requires responding to after-hours emergencies, making on-call availability an essential aspect of the position.

What We Provide:

  • Competitive Salary: $24.00 to $25.00 per hour
  • On-call responsibilities for after-hours emergencies

Key Responsibilities:

Primarily focused on maintenance duties, with a smaller portion dedicated to cleaning tasks.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues in areas such as HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, flooring, and painting.
  • Uphold customer service standards by responding to resident inquiries and collaborating with them to address and resolve issues effectively.
  • Complete assigned service requests and repairs in accordance with company standards, ensuring safety and timeliness.
  • Conduct turn-key operations to ensure vacant units are ready for new residents promptly.
  • Utilize new equipment safely and adhere to established safety protocols.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintain cleanliness of the grounds, including common areas and facilities.
  • Manage waste disposal and maintain sanitary conditions in all assigned areas.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in maintenance or similar roles.
  • Experience with on-call and weekend service.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical and appliance repairs.
  • Proven background in janitorial or porter services.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety data sheets.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with current auto insurance.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a background check and drug screening.
