Position Summary

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the hotel’s physical assets are in optimal condition. Your hands-on experience will contribute significantly to our mission of providing exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting routine maintenance and repairs on various building systems, including lighting, plumbing, electrical, and structural components.
  • Performing necessary repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment.
  • Executing engineering projects as directed by the Director of Engineering or management.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in storage and maintenance areas.
  • Ensuring all fire safety equipment is functional and up to code.
  • Alerting management to any major repair needs.
  • Keeping maintenance tools in excellent working condition and securely stored.
  • Assisting other departments with maintenance-related tasks as required.
  • Adhering to all safety and security protocols, including OSHA and ADA regulations.
  • Providing support to junior maintenance staff as needed.
  • Addressing guest room HVAC issues promptly.
  • Repairing and maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Diagnosing and resolving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other system issues efficiently.
  • Carrying out complex repairs and maintenance tasks, including electrical circuits, plumbing systems, and minor carpentry.
  • Reporting to work punctually and in a clean, professional uniform.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hotel setting.
  2. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical or trade school certification is advantageous.
  3. Possession of an EPA Universal HVAC license and/or PM Tech certification is preferred.
  4. Strong understanding of maintenance practices, tools, and systems.
  5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs, including furniture and maintenance supplies.
  • Capacity to stand, walk, and move around the hotel for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to access equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Willingness to climb ladders and scaffolding as necessary.
  • Capability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
