Key Responsibilities:
- Crafts a variety of breads, rolls, muffins, and pastries with precision.
- Analyzes production schedules to ascertain the types and quantities of baked goods required, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are prepared.
- Manages the receipt of ingredients and supplies, ensuring they meet quality standards for daily baking operations.
- Measures and divides dough accurately, shaping it into loaves or other forms, and oversees the proofing and baking processes, ensuring product quality throughout.
- Applies various toppings and finishes to specialty baked items to enhance presentation and flavor.
- Prepares fillings, compotes, and other accompaniments as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Addresses daily operational challenges related to equipment and food supplies, ensuring the quality and safety of all products.
- Completes necessary production documentation and records.
- May accommodate special dietary needs in baked goods preparation.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are essential:
- Education: High School Diploma; Associate's Degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar baking role.
- A minimum of 1 year in a fine dining food service environment.
- Expertise in specialty bread production, including proofing techniques and starter usage.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in bread production is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of inventory management and supply ordering processes.
- Ability to uphold quality control standards throughout the baking process.
- Proficiency in preparing and baking a diverse range of pastries and baked goods.
- Capability to compile data and generate reports as needed.
- Experience in receiving, stocking, and delivering baking supplies.
