Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Childcare Lead Teacher to join our team at the Keene Family YMCA. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direction and leadership to our childcare program, ensuring a high-quality experience for children and parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement curriculum within established guidelines.
  • Design and implement daily lesson/activity plans that promote youth development, social responsibility, and healthy living.
  • Supervise children, classroom, and all activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Conduct ongoing, systemic observations and evaluations of each child, identifying areas for growth and development.
  • Maintain positive relationships with parents, responding to their inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and stability in the classroom.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and family nights, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
Requirements
  • Meets 80% to 100% of the following qualifications:
  • Ability to perform duties with professionalism, enthusiasm, kindness, empathy, care, honesty, and respect.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law; 18 ECE Credits.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion or extensive training and work experience.
  • An associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
