Position Overview

The Technical Supervisor is accountable for the setup and operation of audiovisual systems ranging from small to large-scale in a hospitality setting, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. This role reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management


• Oversee the precise and timely setup, operation, and dismantling of intermediate audiovisual equipment.


• Diagnose technical challenges and resolve issues promptly as they occur.


• Adhere to all company security and safety protocols.


• Safeguard equipment against theft and damage during usage.

Client Engagement


• Deliver outstanding service and aim to surpass the expectations of both internal and external clients.


• Act as a leader, mentor, and coach for fellow Technicians, embodying Encore's commitment to World Class Service.


• Foster positive relationships with all clients through effective communication.


• Meet with clients on-site to ensure their requirements are fulfilled and that the equipment setup is functioning correctly.


• Monitor events and check in with clients throughout the day.


• Understand and nurture the relationship with the hotel/client.

Technical Expertise


• Possess a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects of the role and demonstrate advanced operational skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and software issues.


• Anticipate equipment challenges and adapt to changes in a timely and professional manner.

Systems Proficiency


• Familiarize with company processes, adhere to procedures, and accurately complete systems entry and documentation.


• Utilize equipment sheets to identify scheduled equipment for setup and dismantling.


• Collaborate with other staff and external vendors regarding equipment.


• Enhance revenue through effective floor up-selling techniques.


• Work with clients to finalize billing.


• As required, engage with Encore systems and applications.

Qualifications


• High school diploma is mandatory; an Associate's degree is preferred.


• 2-3+ years of experience in customer service or hospitality is advantageous.


• 2-3+ years of audiovisual experience is essential.


• Internal candidates must hold Technical 1-Star Certification prior to application. External candidates will be required to validate and achieve their Technical 1-Star Certification within 60 days of employment.


• A valid driver's license is necessary for team members in roles that may involve operating company vehicles.


• Additional DOT requirements may apply if relevant.


• Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Hotel

Work is conducted in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand, and/or dust. Working conditions may vary from moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be required to work across multiple hotel locations. Working hours will include irregular shifts and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must comply with appearance guidelines as established by Encore.

Warehouse

Work is performed at event venues as well as in a warehouse setting. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore in a warehouse environment and when traveling. When in the warehouse, work will occur in conditions with exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand, and/or dust. Working conditions may range from moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members may use high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components. Working hours may include irregular shifts and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Team members are required to meet specified physical criteria to effectively perform essential job functions. The frequency options for these requirements are categorized as Continuously, Frequently, Occasionally, and Never.
