Position Summary
The Event Sales Manager plays a crucial role in guiding clients through their event journeys, identifying tailored solutions that align with their objectives, ultimately leading to an exceptional event experience. This role leverages all available resources to maximize event engagement and revenue from the designated client portfolio. The position fosters and nurtures relationships with key hotel staff to strengthen the overall business rapport with the hotel. The Event Sales Manager supports company initiatives, business strategies, and core values. Reporting lines include a Senior Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation
- Achieve results by proactively seeking and securing business through a consultative sales approach, utilizing Encore's established sales methodologies.
- Prepare and present quotes and proposals promptly to clients, including those received through the venue booking system or other designated channels.
- Collaborate effectively with vendors and various departments within the company to successfully capture and service events.
- Participate in site visits, pre-event planning meetings, and relevant venue discussions to enhance the customer event experience.
- Comprehend the event cost structure and integrate this knowledge into solution designs while adhering to established profitability guidelines.
Relationship Management
- Deliver exceptional service by building and maintaining relationships with clients, venue staff, and various Encore support functions.
- Conduct thorough research to understand client history and previous experiences, enabling the creation of personalized event experiences.
- Engage with clients by attending meetings, understanding their objectives, and addressing their inquiries and challenges.
- Ensure all client information is accurate and up-to-date in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system at all times.
- Facilitate client referrals and guide them through the Encore network to uncover additional opportunities.
Sales Accountability
- Maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure the achievement of revenue targets.
- Ensure all known opportunities are accurately recorded and updated in the CRM system.
- Support sales forecasting efforts at the home location, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
- Adopt all standard operating procedures related to the role and any new initiatives implemented.
- Stay informed about new product/service offerings and emerging technologies that support meetings and events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 1+ years of relevant experience required.
- 1 year of experience in technology sales or hospitality preferred.
- Prior sales experience in audiovisual services is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the hospitality industry and sales processes is preferred.
- Technical proficiency and computer skills are essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities are required.
