About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Senior Analyst to join our Institutional Retirement Solutions (IRS) finance team at Securian Financial Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, and providing exceptional support to our business partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Accounting and Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management and business partners.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial reporting processes, and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, finance, and business partners, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of financial reporting activities.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including GAAP and statutory financial reporting standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of GAAP and statutory financial reporting standards, as well as experience with financial reporting software and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Insurance Accounting Experience: Experience with insurance accounting concepts and products.
  • Reinsurance Accounting Experience: Experience with reinsurance accounting.
