This role is pivotal in overseeing and guiding a team dedicated to quality assurance and manufacturing engineering projects. The position entails establishing and achieving objectives related to product quality, reliability, and new product processes, alongside facilitating initial customer installations and setups. Additionally, the role encompasses managing the consistency, repeatability, and sustainability of manufacturing operations. It also involves leading initiatives for the selection and enhancement of document control tools, necessitating cross-functional collaboration with R&D NPI teams, test engineering, supply chain management, logistics, production planning, and product-field reliability teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective corrective measures for product non-conformance issues across OEM, field, and factory settings.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in statistical analysis and Six Sigma methodologies throughout the organization.
  • Generate and present management reports detailing the cost of quality by program and function, while maintaining relevant data and reporting tools.
  • Develop, assess, revise, and implement procedures and methods to enhance operational effectiveness and process improvements.
  • Review customer, industry, and regulatory specifications to ensure compliance for products and processes.
  • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain global regulatory and quality standards certifications.
  • Represent the quality and manufacturing division in various committees and working groups.
  • Collaborate with R&D engineering to evaluate the quality and reliability of new product designs.
  • Assess specifications and requirements from companies, suppliers, and customers to determine necessary planning and procedural steps to ensure product quality and manufacturability within realistic cost frameworks.
  • Guide efforts to resolve quality and manufacturing process challenges to minimize schedule disruptions and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Oversee and manage an audit program to confirm that products and systems meet overall quality and system requirements.
  • Administer Material Review activities for related products.
  • Evaluate suppliers and subcontractors, assisting them in implementing quality improvement strategies.
  • Formulate quality and manufacturing policies in alignment with management objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, with a minimum of fifteen years of experience in the Electronics Manufacturing sector; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Expertise in Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, and Statistical Process Control.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, such as ISO9001.
  • Experience in managing Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Knowledge of supply chain quality management for components and EMS providers.
  • Understanding of PLC (Product Life Cycle), PDM (Product Data Management) processes, and Document Control Principles.
  • Specific experience in manufacturing PCB's, PCBA's, cables, metal components, fiber optics, and general electro-mechanical processes.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds.
