Your Contribution

In the role of Manufacturing Engineer, you will be instrumental in supporting the pilot production factory for new products, virtual manufacturing, or high-volume production environments. Leveraging your expertise in technology and engineering principles, you will manage the planning, development, and maintenance of manufacturing techniques, processes, and operations. You will address technical, quality, and production issues, and your skills in optimizing manufacturing costs and standards will reinforce Lam's dedication to innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to new or existing products, including designs, materials, or processes.
  • Design, develop, and implement safe and cost-effective complex equipment and assembly methods for all manufacturing phases.
  • Establish processes and methods for high-volume manufacturing, including operations method sheets, routing, and sequencing.
  • Conduct virtual builds and create assembly sequences.
  • Perform root cause analysis and suggest corrective actions for operational challenges, such as material variances, bottlenecks, and fixture problems during production.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements or problem resolution, ensuring reductions in costs, improvements in product quality, and shorter cycle times.
  • Review and develop designs that enhance product manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
  • Coordinate new product builds in pilot production, collaborating closely with manufacturing and product engineers.
  • Create and release engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOM) through the Engineering Change Management process.
  • Develop handoff packages to facilitate product transitions to high-volume manufacturing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with over 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree with more than 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electro/mechanical assemblies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) with a structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Experience with software applications such as CAD modeling, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Familiarity with the Engineering Change Management Process.
  • Working knowledge of Operation Method Sheets (OMS), process planning, and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of semiconductor equipment and the capital equipment industry's manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Statistical analysis skills, including statistical process control and data analysis in a production context.
  • Understanding of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders and influence both internal and external parties on technical matters.
