Position Summary:
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will spearhead the production and assembly of mechanical components essential for our cutting-edge fusion energy systems. This position demands a robust blend of technical acumen and manufacturing insight, along with strong problem-solving capabilities to navigate the complexities of fusion energy production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that designs are feasible, cost-efficient, and ready for production.
- Evaluate designs and provide constructive feedback to engineering teams to enhance manufacturability and scalability.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and mechanical engineers, to facilitate the assembly of integrated system designs.
- Lead initiatives and partner with mechanical engineers to create assembly and tooling strategies for the production of various pulser subsystems.
- Develop resource-loaded production schedules to meet ambitious project timelines.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technologies.
- Work alongside mechanical engineers to implement design modifications that improve manufacturing processes across system components.
- Engage in risk assessment activities and formulate mitigation strategies.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering is required; a Master's Degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering role.
- In-depth knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including sand casting, die-casting, forging, welding, injection molding, 3D printing, and CNC machining.
- Strong grasp of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Proficient understanding of mechanical systems production and assembly; familiarity with high voltage systems is a plus.
- Exceptional leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring junior engineers.
- Proficient in CAD software, such as Creo or NX CAD.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in hands-on engineering design and rapid prototyping in a lab environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

The salary range for this position is $160,000-$220,000, determined by experience and qualifications.
