Your Profile

You are a proactive engineer with a robust background in the development of cutting-edge manufacturing equipment and processes. Your extensive technical knowledge in equipment, processes, and manufacturing will be essential in addressing complex challenges on our pilot production line. You will spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing throughput, performance, and safety, ensuring our team consistently meets the high standards required for the quality and quantity of our battery materials. Collaborating closely with a dedicated team of process engineers, equipment engineers, technicians, and scientists, your commitment to manufacturing excellence will be crucial to the success of our innovative battery material technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing equipment and processes, tackling daily operational challenges with enthusiasm and rigor.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives on the pilot manufacturing line, focusing on enhancing process throughput, equipment reliability, performance, and safety.
  • Analyze quality non-conformances and collaborate with project teams to devise effective response strategies.
  • Oversee the planning and operation of the pilot manufacturing line, managing manufacturing documentation and implementing systems to rectify operational inefficiencies.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and expand the capabilities of our manufacturing equipment.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (or less for candidates with an advanced degree).
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven technical understanding of intricate production equipment and processes, with the ability to independently troubleshoot, analyze data, and manage control charts (SPC). Familiarity with JMP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with key manufacturing systems/tools such as Management of Change, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Work Instructions & Travelers, and Incident Reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively, demonstrating self-motivation and the capacity to work autonomously with minimal guidance; comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in establishing workflows and manufacturing process structures.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and enhancing capabilities of complex equipment.
  • Strong listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to pass a respirator fit test and wear respiratory protection as needed.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment, including lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
  • Capability to lift items up to 50 lbs with assistance from lift equipment and carts.
  • Ability to navigate long distances as required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
Work Schedule

Regular Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Compensation

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $128,000 to $162,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including education, experience, and skills. This base salary is part of Sila's comprehensive Total Rewards package, which may include benefits, perks, equity, and bonuses. Please note that the base pay range is subject to change.
