The Human Resources Specialist will demonstrate exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities. This role requires a strategic thinker with outstanding organizational and time management capabilities. To excel in this position, HR specialists should exhibit strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of employee relations, staffing management, and payroll processes. Ideal candidates will be skilled in conflict resolution, effective scheduling, and thorough recruitment practices.
Key Responsibilities of the HR Specialist:
- Address daily internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
- Maintain both physical and digital employee records.
- Support the recruitment process in collaboration with the hiring team.
- Oversee internal job postings in partnership with hiring managers and maintain job posting documentation.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to performance management protocols and escalate issues to the HR Business Partner (HRBP) as necessary.
- Ensure that reported employee relations matters are communicated to the HRBP.
- Organize meetings, interviews, and maintain agendas.
- Help coordinate employee events and celebrations.
- Manage logistics for training sessions and seminars, recording attendance as required.
- Facilitate employee communications, including postings, newsletters, and other notifications as needed.
- Coordinate logistics for new hire orientation and update records for new staff.
- Generate and submit reports on general HR activities.
- Assist with payroll processing and various HR projects.
- Ensure that HR supplies and materials are adequately stocked.
- Support other assigned functions as needed.
- Familiarity with labor laws and employment equity regulations.
- Effective HR administration and influence skills.
- Understanding of payroll practices.
- Basic knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High proficiency in computer applications, including email, MS Office, and related business tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Robust decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in an HR role.
