Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional patient care and support in our ambulatory setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations, adhering to approved standards of care and hospital guidelines.
- Assist with various clinical tasks, including rooming patients, vital signs, heights, and weights, and screening questions.
- Collect and report data to licensed professionals, including abnormal findings, and document all findings in the medical record.
- Administer medications approved for Medical Assistants to administer at Nationwide Children's.
- Take direction and delegation of orders and/or tasks from Registered Nurses or Licensed Practical Nurses within the scope of the Medical Assistant's training.
- Act as a preceptor for orientation and training of new staff, float staff, and students as directed.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or five years of equivalent experience.
- CPR certification (American Heart Association Heart Saver with pediatric content) or Health Care Provider course or Red Cross equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, and professional behavior in the presence of patients and staff.
- Computer familiarity and literacy with general data entry.
- Ability to learn and be proficient with specific computer programs, systems, and Electronic Medical Record documentation.
- Pediatric experience.
Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read, and perform manual tasks with or without accommodations, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty. Must be able to independently lift up to 25 lbs.
