Position Overview:
The Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services is currently in search of dedicated Full-Time Youth Care Workers to fulfill roles during our 2nd Shift (2PM-10PM) and 3rd Shift (10PM-6AM).

Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with a clean driving history.
  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, or a related Human Services field is preferred.
  • Alternatively, completion of at least 60 college credits in a social/human service field or equivalent experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth is acceptable.
  • Availability to work weekends as scheduled.
  • Successful completion of all pre-employment physical and drug screenings, including background checks.
  • Effective oral, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Mandatory attendance at all required training sessions followed by shadowing.
  • Capability to manage various behavioral levels while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Physical Requirements:
Applicants must possess the physical capability to restrain a resident if necessary, utilizing Safe Crisis Management techniques.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and clear boundaries for residents.
  • Exhibit a range of support and communication in alignment with CHOR's Sanctuary principles.
  • Assist in planning and overseeing structured activities.
  • Ensure the safety and security of residents and the facility at all times.
  • Demonstrate commitment to youth and act with integrity during challenging situations.
  • Show patience, tolerance, and adaptability in various circumstances.
