Summary of Position:

The Training and Development Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that all Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services employees receive comprehensive training and development opportunities. This position collaborates closely with the Human Resources Department to deliver initial orientation programs for new hires, as well as ongoing training initiatives to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and informative training sessions with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Maintain current certifications as required by industry standards.
  • Participate in professional development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct New Employee Development (NED) programs, specialized training such as Safe Crisis Management (SCM), and other essential ongoing training initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling and communication regarding training programs for employees.
  • Develop new training materials and programs, either independently or in collaboration with subject matter experts, utilizing platforms like Relias or coordinating internal/external speakers.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee training participation and progress within the designated tracking system.
  • Assist in the management and auditing of employee training files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Travel to regional offices as needed to conduct training sessions or coordinate with training staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is required.
  • Prior experience in a training and development capacity is essential.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the Relias training system is highly desirable.
