Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Youth Care Worker to join our team at the Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Guide Residents: Provide individualized supervision, guidance, and support to our residents, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Implement Sanctuary Principles: Demonstrate a deep understanding of our Sanctuary principles and implement them in daily interactions with residents, promoting a culture of safety, respect, and empathy.
  • Plan and Supervise Activities: Assist in planning and supervising programmed activities, ensuring a balanced and engaging environment that meets the diverse needs of our residents.
  • Maintain Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of residents and staff at all times, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals, share knowledge, and provide support when needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field (social work, criminal justice, psychology, or human services) or equivalent experience working with youth.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to restrain a resident, if necessary, while utilizing Safe Crisis Management training.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate patience, tolerance, and flexibility.
  • Background Clearances: Must pass all pre-employment physical and drug screenings, including background clearances (Child, Criminal, FBI, and DMV).
