Job Description: Medical Office Clerk

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Medical Office Clerk to join our team at HealthCare Resolution Services. As a Medical Office Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients and visitors, answers phone calls, and directs them to the appropriate staff member.
  • Schedules appointments, determines patient eligibility, and relays instructions to patients.
  • Updates and files medical records, organizes and researches patient information, and ensures accurate and complete records.
  • Obtains documentation from healthcare providers, performs administrative duties, and contacts patients for unutilized appointments.
  • Creates appointment schedules, conducts end-of-day processes, and resolves delinquent or pending appointments.
  • May assist in preparing patient notices and receive and deliver telephone messages to PCMs and/or clinic nurses.
  • Performs other administrative and clerical duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • A fully qualified typist with a minimum of 50 WPM is required.
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency, medical terminology desired.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical office setting, including scheduling patients and working with provider teams day-to-day.
  • The work is primarily sedentary, but may require prolonged walking, standing, sitting, or bending.
