Audiovisual Technology Manager

Job Summary
The Audiovisual Technology Manager is responsible for guiding technology development in conference rooms across RAND's U.S. locations. The position is also responsible for daily supervision of AV staff that support webinars, videoconferences, audio conferencing, and special events at all RAND U.S. offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and implements technology strategies for conference rooms, collaborating with stakeholders to define needs and manage projects.
- Provides technical leadership in the development and maintenance of AV systems, ensuring consistency and quality across locations.
- Manages budgets and forecasts for technology-related capital projects, providing input to the yearly budget for AV equipment and expenses.
- Guides the AV team in the selection and implementation of new technologies, ensuring alignment with RAND's institutional priorities.
- Communicates effectively with the Conference Services Director on personnel, procedures, purchasing, strategy, and other departmental concerns.
- Supervises AV Leads and Techs who provide daily AV support for webinars, videoconferences, presentations, and audio support for meetings and special events.
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures for the AV team, ensuring timely and high-quality service.
- Manages time responsibly, allocating tasks to the team and self, based on department priorities, organizational needs, and employee skill level.
- Handles complex meeting planning, defining appropriate technology, budget, staff assignments, and final execution.
- Works with the Conference Services Director on various projects and duties.
- Directs multiple service contractors for small- and large-scale events.
- Oversees external AV vendors who provide maintenance and installation support.
- Collects, develops, and maintains department metrics, ensuring quality, service, and solutions across all aspects of audiovisual services.
- Leads continuous improvement process efforts to refine and improve internal procedures.
Requirements
- Certifications in Audiovisual Technology (CTS) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of AV control systems, Dante, AVB, and network topologies.
- Thorough working knowledge of the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of audio, projection, display, PTZ cameras, and video conferencing systems.
- Experience in large-scale AV project management and installations.
- Experience producing technical aspects of high-level events.
- Experience working on live events.
- Experience in Legacy H.323 VTC systems and new collaboration and hybrid platform deployment on Windows and Android.
- Good organizational skills and attention to details.
Education Requirements
- Minimum: High School or GED equivalency.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience
- 6 years minimum experience.
Security Clearance
- Current possession of a U.S. security clearance, or the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance, is required.
Location
Santa Monica, CA
Salary Range:$100,100- $152,400
RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.
Successful candidates will be offered employment in a specific title, as determined by the candidate's education and experience.
The salary range includes base pay plus RAND's sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken).
In addition, RAND provides strong benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid time-off and more.
