How we LEAD:

The Rights Management Supervisor will collaborate closely with Interscope Business Affairs to oversee data management, identifying and securing agreements that influence our repertoire (including artists, producers, (re)mixer, side artists, and sample contracts). This role is pivotal in documenting the terms of these agreements within the 'Rights Hub' rights management platform, ensuring accessibility for repertoire linkage.

How you'll CREATE:

  • Accountable for documenting agreement terms (through contracts, deal memos, or emails) and managing data within the 'Rights Hub' rights management platform to guarantee linkage to repertoire.
  • Expertly interpret contractual language and convey the operational stance of the label concerning various agreements; liaise with Label Business Affairs to manage data and clarify contractual terms as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Royalties Business Affairs to ensure timely capture of royalties provisions and maintain effective communication between Royalties Business Affairs and Label Business Affairs.
  • Facilitate the prompt approval of all rights and royalties provisions recorded in the system by the appropriate label attorney.
  • Link agreements to all pertinent repertoire and contributors (e.g., associating producers with their respective agreements governing their services for specific songs).
  • Maintain current deal information reflecting negotiation status, contractual modifications, option exercises, drop notices, rights expirations, deal 'overrides', etc.
Bring your VIBE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Music or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with recording contracts.
  • Organized and task-oriented, capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and conduct detailed contractual analysis regularly.
  • Outgoing personality with strong communication skills; this role involves managing rights communication across various departments (Legal, Royalties, A&R, Production, Commercial, etc.).
  • Ambition for continuous process enhancement (expediting deal entry times, refining the application and business processes, etc.).
  • Proficient technical skills (experience and comfort with web-based applications).
  • Preference for a rights management role rather than an immediate transition to deal negotiation.
  • Understanding of business process workflows (adhering to established processes and recognizing how one's role contributes to overarching objectives).
  • 2-3 years of experience in the music industry.
