Position Overview
We are seeking an IT Specialist to enhance our technical capabilities. This role is essential for the effective management and upkeep of our IT systems. You will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of our technological infrastructure, including computer systems, networks, software applications, and hardware components. Your expertise will be vital in delivering technical support, resolving issues, and implementing improvements to optimize our IT environment. This role requires in-office presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support:
Provide initial technical assistance to staff facing IT challenges, encompassing hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Quickly troubleshoot and resolve IT problems to minimize operational disruptions.
Support various devices, including desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets, and printers. - Network Administration:
Assist in the configuration and maintenance of local and wide area networks.
Monitor network performance and proactively address potential issues to maintain connectivity.
Establish and manage network security protocols, including firewalls and antivirus solutions. - Software Management:
Install, update, and maintain operating systems and software applications on employee devices.
Oversee software licensing and ensure adherence to usage policies.
Provide training and guidance on software applications to enhance user proficiency. - Hardware Maintenance:
Conduct regular maintenance on computer hardware to ensure optimal functionality.
Coordinate with external vendors for hardware repairs or replacements as necessary.
Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and keep accurate records. - Data Security and Backup:
Implement and manage data backup procedures to protect critical information.
Enforce data security measures to safeguard against breaches and unauthorized access.
Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks. - IT Projects:
Research emerging technologies and propose solutions to enhance IT capabilities. - Documentation:
Maintain thorough documentation of IT systems, procedures, and configurations.
Generate reports on IT performance, incidents, and resolutions. - User Training:
Develop and conduct training sessions to improve employees' technical skills.
Promote best practices to enhance overall technology literacy within the organization.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong technical expertise in computer hardware, software applications, operating systems, and network management.
- Familiarity with network and security protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective communication skills to engage with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with cloud services and ITIL best practices is advantageous.
- Relevant certifications are beneficial.
