Overview:

Are you passionate about safeguarding innovative blockchain technology and ensuring equitable access to financial systems? The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is on a mission to enhance the Stellar blockchain network, which has been thriving since 2014. With the recent introduction of Soroban, a new Smart Contracts platform, the SDF team is expanding to meet the evolving needs of the Stellar ecosystem.

Role Summary:

The SDF is seeking a seasoned Corporate Security Engineer to collaborate with corporate administration and engineering teams to fortify the security posture of the organization. This role will involve integrating security protocols using SecOps methodologies into daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to design and enhance security vulnerability management programs, both proactively (audits, etc.) and reactively (patching policies, CVE tracking, etc.).
  • Establish a comprehensive security framework that includes processes and training to embed security best practices into daily operations.
  • Develop robust security policies in collaboration with partner teams to ensure adherence to best practices at SDF.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to security tools, processes, and documentation.
  • Oversee security evaluations of third-party vendors and assess the associated risks of their products and integrations.
  • Design and deploy security solutions for network systems, ensuring compliance with emerging cybersecurity standards.
  • Collaborate closely with IT and engineering teams to conduct security analyses utilizing SIEM tools and vulnerability assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise corporate security or a related field.
  • Familiarity with access control and identity management systems.
  • Proficient in network protocols and secure network architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate security policy development and knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in SIEM tools such as Splunk, vulnerability analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Ability to coordinate security initiatives and lead technical aspects of security audits.
  • Experience in creating and managing security training programs for the organization.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing technical solutions to strengthen security measures.
  • Collaborative mindset with a history of working effectively in team environments.
  • Experience in consulting with external vendors.
  • Familiarity with MITRE, NIST, and OWASP frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to open-source projects.
  • Active involvement in the cryptocurrency community.
  • Experience with security solutions such as SIEM tooling, Wazuh, and Jamf.
  • Background in policy development and collaboration with executive-level stakeholders.
