Position: Senior Security Engineer - Splunk Enterprise Security

BlueVoyant is in search of a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to become a vital part of our Splunk Deployment Engineering Team. This role demands a deep understanding of Splunk security, SIEM platforms, and associated technologies. You will take the lead on substantial enterprise-level SIEM initiatives to facilitate our Splunk MDR services within client environments and cloud infrastructures, engaging in the hands-on implementation of a diverse array of SIEM-centric security solutions and technologies. Furthermore, you may also engage in Microsoft Sentinel deployments, promoting cross-training and knowledge exchange within multi-SIEM settings.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud project implementations for clients (remotely), beginning with design and architecture, deployment, and use case optimization.
- Contribute to the development of SIEM customizations tailored to meet client needs for enhancing MDR services.
- Design and create new detection, automation, and reporting use cases based on client specifications.
- Evaluate and report on the maturity of client SIEM and MDR deployments.
- Define and assist in the generation of operational and executive security reports and dashboards.
- Support multi-SIEM environments that include Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure technologies as required.
- Engage in MDR integration efforts across the Splunk, Cribl, and Microsoft Sentinel product ecosystems.
- Serve as a strategic and lead technical resource within a team for significant client-facing projects.
- Act as a mentor on the Deployment Engineering team, guiding mid and junior-level engineers.
- Participate in ongoing support activities for client-facing environments to enhance and sustain our MDR practices.
- Identify and implement enhancements around processes and technical capabilities.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, including internal documentation, training sessions, public-facing articles, etc.
- A minimum of 8 years of technical experience with security technologies.
- Extensive experience with the management and configuration of Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud.
- Advanced expertise in the configuration and management of the Splunk Enterprise Security premium application.
- Strong proficiency in Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL).
- Familiarity with enterprise IT systems concerning cybersecurity and log management.
- Hands-on engineering experience with SIEM and MDR technologies.
- Exceptional communication skills for collaboration in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
- Strong experience in additional query languages and/or scripting languages such as SQL, Bash, PowerShell, SKQL, etc.
- Comfortable in customer-facing roles.
- Expertise in cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of incident investigation and response methodologies.
- Proficient in Python, Bash scripting, and/or RegEx.
- Experienced in navigating and supporting Linux & Windows hosts; AWS, Azure, and GCP hosted infrastructures; Active Directory, Rsyslog/Syslog-ng, and other related technologies.
