Senior Security Engineer - Splunk Enterprise Security

BlueVoyant is actively looking for a skilled Senior Security Engineer to become a vital part of our Splunk Deployment Engineering Team. In this capacity, you will leverage your extensive expertise in Splunk security, SIEM platforms, and associated technologies. Your role will involve leading engineering efforts on substantial and enterprise-level SIEM initiatives to facilitate our Splunk MDR services within client environments and cloud infrastructures, encompassing hands-on implementation of a wide array of SIEM-centric security solutions and technologies. You may also engage in Microsoft Sentinel deployments, fostering cross-training and knowledge exchange within multi-SIEM ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud project implementations for clients (remotely), commencing with design and architecture, deployment, and use case optimization.
- Contribute to the creation of SIEM customizations tailored to client specifications for enhancing MDR services.
- Develop and implement new detection, automation, and reporting use cases based on client needs.
- Evaluate and report on the maturity of client SIEM and MDR deployments.
- Define and assist in generating operational and executive security reports and dashboards.
- Support multi-SIEM environments that include Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, and Azure technologies as required.
- Participate in MDR integration activities across the Splunk, Cribl, and Microsoft Sentinel product stacks.
- Serve as a strategic and lead technical delivery resource within a team for large and enterprise client-facing projects.
- Act as a mentor on the Deployment Engineering team, guiding mid and junior-level engineers.
- Engage in ongoing support activities for client-facing environments to enhance and sustain our MDR practices.
- Identify and implement enhancements related to processes and technical enablement.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, including internal documentation, educational sessions, public-facing blogs, etc.
- A minimum of 8 years of technical experience with security technology enablement.
- Proficient experience with Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud management and configuration.
- Advanced expertise in configuring and managing the Splunk Enterprise Security premium application.
- Strong command of Splunk Search Process Language (SPL).
- Familiarity with enterprise IT systems concerning cybersecurity and log management.
- Hands-on engineering experience with SIEM and MDR technologies.
- Exceptional communication skills to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
- Significant experience with additional query languages and/or scripting development such as SQL, Bash, PowerShell, SKQL, etc.
- Comfortable in customer-facing roles.
- Expertise in cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Understanding of incident investigation and response skill sets.
- Proficient in Python, Bash scripting, and/or RegEx.
- Skilled in navigating and supporting Linux & Windows hosts; AWS, Azure, and GCP hosted infrastructure; AD, Rsyslog/Syslog-ng, and other related technologies.
