Job Overview:

Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (LMMFC) is on the lookout for a dedicated Development & Prototype Fabrication Support Specialist to join our Engineering & Prototype Laboratory (EPL).

In this role, you will operate independently with minimal guidance from the EPL Manufacturing & Engineering team, thriving in a 'Build to Print' Machining and Fabrication setting.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the receipt of raw materials and manage material inventory effectively.
  • Enhance and streamline the management control process for consumable materials on the shop floor.
  • Lead the management and control of calibrated tools within the EPL.
  • Champion 6S and Lean Process improvements throughout the facility.
  • Maintain documentation of operating policies to ensure compliance with Command Media requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine operational processes and procedures to support efficient lab operations.
  • Assist with Lab Process Audits as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and willingness to learn forklift operation.
  • Experience in a dynamic Manufacturing Environment.
  • Familiarity with Bandsaws and general Machining & Fabrication equipment.
  • Knowledge of handling raw materials such as metals, hardware, and chemicals.
  • Ability to support Machinists and Model Makers by providing pre-cut raw materials for machining operations.
  • Capability to receive, store, identify, mark, track, and allocate raw materials to facilitate replenishment.
  • Proficient in problem-solving techniques related to processes, products, and procedures.
  • Experience with computers and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to develop Manufacturing Operations processes and procedures.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to facility requirements.

Desired Skills:
  • Current Forklift Certification with Lockheed Martin MFC.
  • Understanding of Shipping & Receiving processes.
  • Technical knowledge of various materials, including Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Titanium.
  • Familiarity with measuring tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, and Thread Gages.

Work Environment:

This position requires onsite work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Lockheed Martin supports various alternate work schedules to provide flexibility for employees, including standard 40-hour work weeks and condensed schedules.
