Position Overview:

The Fountain Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced scientist to spearhead the discovery and validation of novel genetic targets related to various cardiometabolic conditions. This role is crucial for advancing our understanding of diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity, Atherosclerosis, and others, contributing significantly to our innovative research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement stem cell-based in-vitro disease models.
  • Create and optimize assays utilizing advanced imaging techniques for the screening of pharmacological compounds and genetic alterations through CRISPR technology.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments, analyze results, and present findings effectively.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with multidisciplinary teams across therapeutic areas.
  • Maintain accurate electronic laboratory records and manage sample inventories.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, a Master's degree with at least 3 years, or a PhD with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in muscle biology.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in cell culture techniques and the differentiation of stem cells into specific lineages.
  • Familiarity with gene editing technologies, including CRISPR, siRNA, ASOs, lentiviral vectors, and AAVs.
  • Strong background in molecular biology methods such as RNA extraction, quantitative PCR, ELISA/MSD, and immunocytochemistry.
  • Ability to think critically and design effective experimental approaches.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Note:

This position requires on-site laboratory work. Candidates should be adaptable and open to changes in project direction.
