POSITION OVERVIEW

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is dedicated to commemorating and honoring the lives lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993. Through various commemorative activities, exhibitions, and educational initiatives, the museum pays tribute to the 2,983 individuals who perished, as well as those who bravely risked their lives to assist others and those who showed remarkable compassion in the aftermath.

The museum currently provides specialized programming for law enforcement, intelligence, military, and first responder sectors. In alignment with our mission, we are expanding these essential programs into the private sector. The Assistant Manager of Professional Programs will play a pivotal role in supporting and managing this expansion, leveraging their expertise to ensure that these initiatives resonate with participants and achieve the intended scale. This role will involve collaboration with the Director of Public and Professional Programs to design programs, strategize for growth, conduct outreach, and continuously assess our effectiveness.

The Assistant Manager will report directly to the Director of Public and Professional Programs and may need to accommodate early morning and occasional weekend work. The institution currently operates under a hybrid work model, allowing for both onsite and remote work, although these policies may evolve based on program requirements. This position is grant-funded and is expected to continue through December 31, 2027, with potential for extension based on future funding.
