POSITION OVERVIEW

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is dedicated to commemorating and honoring the lives lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993. The institution also pays tribute to those who selflessly acted to save others and those who showed remarkable compassion in the aftermath.

The museum currently provides specialized programming for law enforcement, intelligence, military, and first responder organizations. In an effort to broaden our outreach, we are expanding these mission-driven programs into the private sector. The Professional Programs Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in facilitating this expansion, leveraging their expertise to ensure these initiatives resonate with participants and achieve intended outcomes. This position will collaborate closely with the Director of Public and Professional Programs to design programs, strategize for growth, conduct outreach, and assess our effectiveness continuously.

The Assistant Manager will report directly to the Director of Public and Professional Programs and may need to accommodate early morning and occasional weekend work. The institution currently operates under a hybrid work model, combining onsite and remote work, which may evolve based on program requirements. This role is grant-funded and is anticipated to continue through December 31, 2027, with potential for extension based on future funding.

We are primarily interested in finding the best candidate for the role, which may include individuals from non-traditional backgrounds.
