Job Title: Patient Services Liaison

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Services Liaison to join our team at Hospital for Special Surgery. As a key member of our Service Excellence team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients and their families receive exceptional care and support throughout their hospital experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create a welcoming environment for patients and visitors, providing a comfortable and informative space for them to wait and receive care.
  • Partner with our interdisciplinary team to enhance the patient and family experience through enhanced service and amenities.
  • Evaluate patient and family needs, concerns, and problems, and provide solutions and support as needed.
  • Document and track patient and family concerns and issues, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate service recovery efforts, working with our Service Excellence staff, nursing staff, and patient advocates to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care and support.
  • Conduct regular rounds to ensure that patients and visitors are comfortable and receiving the care they need.
  • Provide assistance and comfort to patients and families as needed, including helping them navigate the hospital and its services.
  • Collaborate with our nursing staff to identify patients who may need immediate assistance, and work with them to provide support and care.
  • Assist patients and families during transition to in-patient or other surgical floors, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience.
  • Coordinate the on-boarding process and daily functions of our volunteers, including mentoring and training.
  • Ensure coverage at all times, creating and maintaining a schedule for back-up support.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in healthcare, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Ability to resolve issues through innovative problem-solving and solution development.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and pragmatic, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ability to train on internal hospital systems.
  • Ability to contribute to meetings, prioritize issues, resolve conflicts, and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Well-organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects on tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to interface with a diverse, multi-cultural population.
Education:
  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree highly desirable.

We offer a competitive salary range of $39.23-$40.22 per hour, depending on experience.
