We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Patient Services Liaison to join our team at Hospital for Special Surgery. As a key member of our Service Excellence team, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and hospital staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Monitor patient progress and provide non-medical information and assistance to waiting families.
  • Partner with the interdisciplinary team to enhance the patient and family experience through enhanced service and amenities.
  • Evaluate patient and family needs, concerns, and problems, and document complaints and concerns.
  • Identify resources needed to manage current and future family/patient volume, and coordinate service recovery efforts.
  • Conduct rounds to ensure patients and visitors are comfortable, and track concerns and issues to identify trends.
  • Provide assistance and comfort to patients and families as needed, and collaborate with nursing staff to identify patients who may need immediate assistance.
  • Assist patients and families during transition to in-patient or other surgical floors, and coordinate the on-boarding process and daily functions of volunteers.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in healthcare, hospitality, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to train on internal hospital systems.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to interface with a diverse, multi-cultural population.
