Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Liaison to join our team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. As a key member of our patient access team, you will play a critical role in facilitating patient flow from scheduling through registration check-in, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Accurately collect and enter demographic and financial information, ensuring accurate patient identification and securing payment sources.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and execute payor requirements, as needed.
  • Provide estimates for services and communicate with patients regarding financial obligations.
  • Enter testing orders and understand coding, procedural protocols, and the charge description master.
  • Obtain signatures for required consents and notifications.
Requirements
  • Flexibility to work per diem schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 2 years job-related experience.
  • Associate's degree with 6 months job-related experience preferred.
  • Basic MS Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word skills, as well as customer service and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to obtain National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) certification after one year of service.
Working Conditions
  • Sedentary/light effort, with occasional manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.
  • Some occupational risk, but generally pleasant working conditions.
