Payroll Specialist/HR Generalist Job Description

UHY LLP, Certified Public Accountants is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist/HR Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our Resource Solutions Group, you will be responsible for providing expert payroll and human resources support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive human resources plans and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Manage payroll processing, including weekly payroll, annual W-2 and 1099 processing, and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Administer benefits, compensation, and time-off programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and other employee benefits.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees and management, responding to inquiries and resolving work-related issues.
  • Manage employee data, including new hire onboarding, terminations, and changes to employee information.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA/MIOSHA standards, workers' compensation, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Process and manage leave of absence requests, including FMLA, short-term disability, and long-term disability.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including EEO-1/Vets100A, and ensure compliance with EEO regulations.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in HR Generalist role
  • 2-4 years of clerical experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4-year college degree and/or exclusive training/experience in all HR subject matter
  • Proficient in MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Outlook, and MS-PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
