Supervisory Responsibilities: Field Technicians

Role Summary: The Regional Service Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for recruiting, training, and assigning technicians to various districts. This role involves direct engagement with technicians in designated areas, setting clear job expectations, and overseeing technician performance along with the annual review process while ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Field Technicians.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and train new technicians.
  • Collaborate closely with field technicians to fulfill customer needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with dispatch to ensure technicians are following the service schedule.

Customer Relations:

  • Identify and address customer issues promptly and effectively.
  • Train staff on efficient route planning and service delivery.
  • Oversee the training of employees on new customer locations to meet contract obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines among all employees.
  • Resolve any technician-related issues that arise during daily operations.

Operational Standards:

  • Ensure all vehicles and facilities meet company standards.
  • Drive productivity among technicians.
  • Balance and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Conduct periodic quality checks to maintain service excellence.
  • Participate in regular management meetings.

Daily Duties:

  • Review the regional overview for completed services.
  • Communicate with each technician in your district daily.
  • Stay updated with dispatch on route assignments.
  • Engage with the Service Operations Manager regularly.
  • Ensure all work orders are completed as scheduled.
  • Maintain schedule adherence across all districts.
  • Assist with deliveries as needed.

Work Schedule Example:

  • Monday: Visit assigned routes.
  • Tuesday: Conduct quality checks and hold safety meetings.
  • Wednesday: Work alongside technicians to ensure timely job completion.
  • Thursday: Meet with maintenance directors or customers as necessary.
  • Friday: Review and adjust schedules for the upcoming week.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in the HVAC industry or prior management experience.
  • Preferred: Associate degree in business management from an accredited institution.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and flexibility.
  • Ability to follow through on tasks and work well with diverse personalities.
  • General knowledge of HVAC systems is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Experience in facilities management, mechanical, or construction fields is advantageous.

Compensation:

Salary range: $40,000 - $45,000 per year.
