Position Summary

The Vice President of Public Affairs will play a crucial role in establishing and expanding the government affairs division at Metropolis. This position is pivotal in crafting the company's approach to engaging with governmental entities and community stakeholders. We are in search of a proactive leader with substantial expertise in public policy, compliance, and advocacy, who can collaborate across various internal departments, including Legal, Operations, and Communications, to identify and engage key audiences in our operational markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the strategic framework for the government affairs function to support the company's objectives.
  • Work in tandem with Communications, Marketing, and the executive team to implement a policy campaign that positions Metropolis as a leading authority in the future of mobility and checkout-free solutions.
  • Act as the primary liaison for all governmental relations and public policy matters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, legislative offices, and community organizations to foster a supportive operational climate for Metropolis.
  • Evaluate regulatory and political risks, providing insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align government affairs initiatives with overall business strategies.
  • Oversee partnerships with external consultants and lobbyists to enhance our government affairs capabilities.
  • Stay informed on regulatory trends and their implications for the company.
  • Represent Metropolis at industry events and forums, advocating for the company's interests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a dynamic corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated success in integrating public policy with business strategy and operations.
  • Proficient in identifying and analyzing complex regulatory issues at various governmental levels.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with government officials and community leaders.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities, with a focus on collaboration and influence across teams.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, utilizing data to inform decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Experience in AI technology, mobility, or related sectors is advantageous.
