Position Summary:
The Vice President of Business Affairs will play a crucial role in overseeing development and series-related contracts for scripted television productions. This includes negotiating agreements with writers, directors, producers, and actors for Universal International Studio, which supports various production entities. The role requires collaboration with the broader Universal Studio Group and involves reporting to senior leadership in both the US and UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate comprehensive scripted programming contracts with talent representatives, ensuring alignment with studio stakeholders.
  • Collaborate daily with multiple departments, including Creative, Casting, Production, Legal, and Marketing.
  • Analyze budgets and financial data pertinent to the development and production of programming.
  • Draft concise deal memos and agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with negotiated terms.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in television Business Affairs.
  • Flexibility to accommodate international stakeholders, particularly in the UK and Australia.
  • Proven negotiation and drafting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bar Admission.
  • Experience in negotiating development and series agreements for scripted content.
  • Familiarity with international Business Affairs, especially in the UK.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational skills.
