Overview

The HVAC Operations Manager plays a pivotal role within our Building Technologies & Solutions division at Johnson Controls. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations at client facilities, ensuring optimal performance and service delivery. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the HVAC sector, along with a solid background in facilities management or a similar leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

As a leader in this technical and managerial capacity, you will:

  • Direct the execution of contracts and achieve financial targets for a high-tech Operations & Maintenance business, managing multiple support services.
  • Oversee a team dedicated to providing exceptional service to assigned accounts, ensuring that workplace environments are optimized.
  • Manage the scheduling and execution of both short-term and long-term maintenance activities for Building Management and Operational Technology Systems.
  • Play a crucial role in developing the technical team, including recruitment, training, and performance management of O&M Specialists and Technicians.
  • Review and authorize expenditures related to tools, equipment, and materials necessary for system maintenance.
  • Provide strategic technical and managerial guidance for all Building Management and Operational Technology services, leveraging available resources to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce costs.
  • Offer expertise to operations and maintenance personnel to resolve complex technical challenges.

Qualifications

Required
High School diploma, Technical School certification, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of five years of experience in HVAC or a related field.
At least two years of leadership experience in a management role.
Technical proficiency in programming and developing graphical displays for control systems.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
Operational knowledge across engineering, sales, and manufacturing disciplines.

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Over ten years of experience in the HVAC industry.
Five years of leadership experience in management.
Experience in contract negotiation and government contracting.
