ROLE OVERVIEW

The MES Support Specialist is essential in ensuring the seamless operation of manufacturing processes by managing and enhancing the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for electric vehicle battery production. This role focuses on providing Tier 1 support, maintaining the efficiency of the MES, and swiftly addressing any operational issues to minimize downtime and uphold production standards. More complex support and significant system modifications will be handled by our headquarters team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver Tier 1 support for the MES, promptly addressing and resolving system issues on-site.
  • Monitor the performance of the MES to guarantee continuous system availability and reliability.
  • Conduct regular system maintenance and updates to ensure the MES remains effective and up-to-date.
  • Assist with on-site equipment and logistics system testing.
  • Manage system operation scenarios, including preventive management, high availability testing, and failure/disaster simulation training.
  • Oversee system operations and monitor post-implementation activities.
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and implement improvements to optimize MES functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and headquarters to integrate the MES with other manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Assess potential impacts of new implementations, enhancements, and process changes as the on-site expert.
  • Support new implementation testing in coordination with the headquarters team.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive MES documentation, including standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides.
  • Diagnose and resolve MES-related issues, working closely with headquarters, on-site IT, and manufacturing teams.
  • Escalate complex issues to Tier 2 support at headquarters as needed.
  • Document and track all issues and resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Train and guide manufacturing personnel on MES functionalities and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure effective utilization of the system.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should have 8+ years of experience in MES support or a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing context. Experience in electric vehicle battery production is advantageous. Strong knowledge of MES platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Plex, ION) is required, along with proficiency in SQL, databases, and scripting languages. Familiarity with Oracle databases and MES system administration is essential. Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control systems is also important. Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
