Position Overview:
We are in search of a skilled MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Engineer to enhance our manufacturing operations. The MES Engineer will be pivotal in maintaining and refining the MES for our EV battery production lines. This role encompasses first-level support, ensuring the MES operates smoothly, and troubleshooting any issues to reduce downtime and uphold production standards. Second-level support and significant system modifications will be managed by our headquarters team. As the primary point of contact for Tier 1 support, you will handle service requests and relay enhancement needs to the Tier 2 team. Communication will primarily occur via email and our IT ticketing system, with occasional video conferences as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and Maintenance of MES:
• Deliver first-level support for the MES, promptly addressing and resolving system challenges on-site.
• Monitor the performance of the MES to ensure ongoing system reliability and availability.
• Conduct regular system maintenance and updates to keep the MES efficient and up-to-date.
• Assist with equipment and logistics system testing on-site.
• Manage operational scenarios, including preventive management and disaster recovery training.
• Oversee system operations and monitor post-implementation activities.
System Enhancement:
• Identify opportunities for system enhancements and implement improvements to boost MES performance.
• Collaborate with various teams and headquarters to integrate MES with other manufacturing systems.
• Assess potential impacts of new implementations and process changes as the on-site expert.
• Support testing of new implementations in coordination with the headquarters team.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive MES documentation, including standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides.
Issue Management:
• Diagnose and resolve MES-related issues, collaborating with headquarters and on-site IT teams.
• Escalate complex issues to the Tier 2 support team as needed.
• Document all issues and resolutions in a timely manner.
Training and Guidance:
• Educate manufacturing personnel on MES functionalities and best practices.
• Provide ongoing support to ensure effective utilization of the system.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in MES support or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing context.
• Experience in EV battery production is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of MES platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Plex, ION).
• Proficient in SQL, databases, and scripting languages.
• Familiarity with Oracle databases.
• Experience in MES system administration and data analysis.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
• Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. is required.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
