Position Overview:
The Patient Access Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients as they navigate financial processes related to their healthcare. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional service while adhering to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct financial counseling for patients and their families, assisting with co-pay and deductible collection.
2. Perform registration tasks, including scheduling appointments and gathering essential financial and demographic data.
3. Verify insurance benefits and generate necessary documentation, such as the Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN).
4. Ensure compliance with medical orders and obtain necessary consents for treatment and financial arrangements.
5. Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold privacy rights throughout all interactions.

Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong customer focus, exhibiting patience and compassion in all dealings. They should possess excellent time management skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations while fostering positive relationships with peers.

Educational Qualifications:
Minimum: High School diploma or GED.
Preferred: Associate's Degree in healthcare or a related business field.

Experience:
Minimum: 3 years of relevant experience in customer service, clerical roles, or within a healthcare setting. Relevant coursework may substitute for experience.

Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency in Windows-based technology is essential, including keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute. Medical Terminology certification is preferred.
