Job Description

The Construction Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily field activities of retail, commercial, or institutional construction projects undertaken by K2 Staffing. This position is responsible for ensuring that the production aspects of the work meet the established quality standards outlined in the project contract documents. The manager is accountable for delivering projects on time and within budget while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

As the face of K2 Staffing, the Construction Operations Manager is tasked with fostering a professional atmosphere that promotes effective communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing daily field operations to ensure project milestones and completion dates are achieved.
  • Creating short-term project schedules to communicate upcoming tasks and proactively address potential issues.
  • Implementing and managing the project site safety plan to cultivate a culture that prioritizes safety and cleanliness.
  • Coordinating work to ensure it is executed in an orderly manner consistent with industry best practices.
  • Establishing and maintaining dimensional controls for the project, utilizing third-party survey and layout personnel as necessary.
  • Verifying that all work is performed to high standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with all contract terms and legal requirements.
  • Administering client-specific programs and conducting project meetings.
  • Managing self-performed activities within the established project budget.
  • Handling changes in project scope to prevent rework.
  • Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Overseeing the punch list and project closeout process.
  • Maintaining daily documentation, including timecards and field reports.
  • Engaging with supporting work groups for effective collaboration.
  • Participating in marketing efforts and project proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned to support company objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or Journeyman status in a building trade with relevant supervisory experience.
  • Understanding of construction methods related to commercial and institutional projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction-related software.
  • Current safety certifications, including OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR.
