Job Summary

Burger Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and supervise projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of work and materials, adhering to the budget, and supervising all operations on the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project managers on all aspects of the project.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, and attentiveness to their needs.
  • Thoroughly review and understand plans, submittals, RFI's, and field conditions.
  • Ensure that project plans are implemented and that the construction process is carried out efficiently.
  • Be present on site to oversee the construction process and commute to multiple job sites as required.
  • Proactively perform layout for the job and verify field conditions to identify and avoid conflicts.
  • Organize workers and ensure they are performing as required, conducting general inspections of their performance and safety.
  • Hold weekly jobsite safety meetings with subcontractors and staff on site.
  • Review daily jobsite conditions for safety and ensure that stipulated safety rules and regulations are met by subcontractors and on-site staff.
  • Liaise with city inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety.
  • Supervise and schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide electronic 2-week schedules weekly to the project team.
  • Schedule work in a way that allows subcontractors to be efficient and profitable.
  • Ensure that quality is preserved in the construction process and that the budget is maintained.
  • Document project progress.
Requirements
  • Ability to supervise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to schedule and multitask several jobs at one time.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledgeable in building and construction processes.
  • Proficient in Procore, BlueBeam, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Minimum High School Diploma; College or University degree in a construction-related field is an asset.
  • A minimum 5 years' experience in Commercial Tenant Improvement Construction.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and maneuver through a jobsite.
  • Must have own tools and be proficient with them.
  • Required to have an up-to-date CPR/First Aid certificate.
  • OSHA 10 certificate at a minimum; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
