Position Overview: As a key player in our organization, the Project Engineer (PE) collaborates closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to oversee various custom construction initiatives. This role is essential for ensuring that all project documentation is managed effectively while maintaining quality and mitigating contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bidding and Estimating: Assist in the preparation of bids and estimates for projects.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets to ensure financial efficiency.
  • RFI Management: Handle Requests for Information (RFIs) to facilitate clear communication among stakeholders.
  • Subcontractor Oversight: Manage subcontractor agreements and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Purchase Order Coordination: Oversee the management of purchase orders related to project needs.
  • Shop Drawing Supervision: Review and manage shop drawings to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Change Order Administration: Manage change orders effectively to minimize disruptions.
  • Project Billing Review: Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of project billing.
  • Risk Management: Identify and forecast potential risks to the project timeline and budget.
  • Submittal and Procurement Management: Oversee the submittal process and procurement of necessary materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of direct experience with project schedules, RFIs, estimates, budgets, and contracts.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans.
  • Strong understanding of subcontractor scopes and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with project owners, architects, and team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and management software; experience with P6, On-Center, Revit, Bluebeam, Sage, or Timberline is a plus.
  • Willingness to visit job sites regularly and engage in office work.

  • Physical capability to navigate job sites and manage materials as needed.
