Position Overview:
The Cybersecurity Compliance Lead is a remote role that oversees the Information Security Team at AbacusLaw, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Cloud Engineering and Technology.

This position is pivotal in ensuring the success of our Cybersecurity and Compliance initiatives, safeguarding AbacusLaw's operations while maintaining the trust of our valued clients.

The individual will manage and engage with the team in all facets of the daily operations within the Security and Compliance Department.

In collaboration with the SVP, the lead will develop and execute departmental objectives that embody comprehensive security strategies and principles aimed at protecting our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the daily functions of the Security Engineering and Compliance division.
- Provide strategic counsel to leadership on optimizing the security of our data, systems, and operational processes.
- Review and refine security and privacy protocols and strategic roadmaps.
- Design, implement, and automate robust cybersecurity measures to protect our networks, systems, and applications.
- Conduct comprehensive security evaluations and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices throughout the application and infrastructure development lifecycle.
- Monitor and address security incidents, conduct investigations, and establish incident response protocols.
- Stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities, proactively implementing countermeasures to mitigate risks.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff awareness of security best practices and foster a culture of security consciousness.
- Assess and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to strengthen our cybersecurity framework.
- Perform regular security audits and assessments to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory obligations.
- Offer expertise and guidance on security-related issues to internal stakeholders and executive leadership.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years in a managerial role within a Security team, demonstrating experience in team development.
- At least 5 years of continuous experience in Cybersecurity, complemented by experience in related fields such as Engineering, Operations, or Compliance.
- Proficiency in Vendor Management and comparative analysis of products and services, including buy versus build decisions.
- In-depth technical knowledge of Cybersecurity, DevOps, and Infrastructure Operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with Security Architecture principles (Defense-in-Depth, Secure by Design, Zero Trust, etc.).
- Experience across diverse environments (Azure, AWS, Private Cloud) and technologies (IaC, SDN, Firewalls, Servers, Containers, Serverless, Endpoints, Collaboration, etc.).
- Understanding of Security Program Phases (Risk Assessment, Architecture and Design, Implementation, Operations, and Monitoring).
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities, capable of facilitating technical discussions and communicating complex information to non-technical audiences while mentoring technical staff.
- Certification in at least one of the following: CISA, CISM, or CISSP.
- Knowledge of NIST, CIS, ISO, OWASP, and other relevant Security Industry Standards and Best Practices.
