Position Overview

The Event Staff plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of events by fulfilling various responsibilities that enhance the overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a representative at the Box Office, manage ticketing duties, and assist with ushering and monitoring events as required.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of Eastern Sports Management's offerings and the specific details related to each event.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, regulations, and procedures established by the organization.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to all attendees.
  • Address incidents, accidents, and conflicts promptly and effectively.
  • Assist in resolving guest inquiries and direct them to the appropriate management personnel when necessary.
  • Maintain composure in high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
Roles
  • Box Office: Facilitate on-site ticket sales using computerized systems, handling both cash and credit transactions.
  • Ticket Taker: Verify ticket validity and warmly welcome guests upon entry.
  • Usher: Guide guests throughout the venue, providing assistance and monitoring designated areas.
  • Court Monitor: Oversee specific courts and areas to ensure efficient event operations.
  • Event Setup/Takedown: Assist in the loading, unloading, and arrangement of equipment necessary for events.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are indicative of the skills and abilities required:

Communication Skills: Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical documents and regulations. Capable of completing incident reports accurately and presenting information clearly to various audiences.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations related to seating and event capacity management.

Reasoning Ability: Apply sound judgment in resolving conflicts that may arise during events.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with Google Suite and proficiency in operating Windows-based PCs and related peripherals.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position include:
  • Constant standing and walking, with occasional bending and lifting.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, with assistance for heavier loads.
  • Excellent hearing and verbal communication skills are essential.
Work Environment:
The Event Staff typically operates in a controlled environment but may encounter varying weather conditions. The noise level can range from moderate to loud, necessitating effective communication skills.
