Position Overview:
We are in search of an innovative Culinary Events Supervisor who possesses a wealth of experience in orchestrating culinary operations for a variety of gatherings, including large-scale events, festive picnics, and intimate private functions. In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with the Executive Chef to deliver exceptional and unforgettable dining experiences within the zoo environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design and curate menus specifically crafted for large gatherings, picnics, and special events.
  • Oversee the entire process of meal preparation, cooking, and presentation for various events and celebrations.
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team during events to ensure flawless execution.
  • Engage with event coordinators and zoo personnel to ascertain specific dietary needs and preferences.
  • Maintain adherence to health and safety regulations, particularly in high-volume food production scenarios.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to provide outstanding service during events.
  • Monitor stock levels and liaise with suppliers for timely procurement of ingredients.
  • Contribute inventive ideas for themed events and unique culinary experiences.
  • Assist in creating cost-effective recipes suitable for large-scale gatherings.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Culinary Events Supervisor in catering for large gatherings or events.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a high-capacity kitchen environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Creativity and flexibility in menu design for a variety of occasions.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety standards and sanitation protocols.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with event planners and zoo staff.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve culinary excellence.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary for events.
