Position Overview

The City of Providence is committed to fostering a supportive environment for families in need.


Role Summary: This position is dedicated to delivering resource assistance to youth in foster care and their families through the Kinship CARES initiative. The incumbent will engage with families to facilitate access to essential services aimed at enhancing their quality of life. This role includes advocating for clients as they navigate various human services and related agencies, ensuring they connect with necessary resources such as basic needs, mental health support, housing aid, and food assistance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate care for families across diverse service systems.
  • Lead support groups for families enrolled in the Kinship CARES program.
  • Provide educational resources and support to parents to cultivate trauma-informed parenting practices.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in human services (psychology, social work, family management, etc.) or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance are mandatory.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary for training and recruitment activities.
  • Bilingual candidates will receive an additional 6% compensation above the base salary.

Physical Demands: This role involves residential and community visits, and candidates must possess the ability to:

  • Travel to and from clients' residences, community venues, and office locations, which may require using walkways, stairs, and/or elevators.
  • Lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
