Family Support Services Coordinator

Role Summary: This position is essential in delivering resource assistance to youth in foster care and their families through the Kinship CARES initiative. The Navigator will engage with families to facilitate access to vital services aimed at enhancing their quality of life. This role includes advocating for families as they navigate various human services and related organizations. Responsibilities include connecting families with essential services such as basic needs, mental health support, housing assistance, and food resources. The Navigator will also coordinate care across multiple service systems and lead support groups for families involved in the Kinship CARES program. Additionally, the role involves providing education and support to parents to cultivate trauma-informed parenting practices, along with completing assigned administrative duties.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in human services (psychology, social work, family management, etc.) or a comparable combination of education and experience is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary for training and recruitment activities.
- Bilingual candidates will receive an additional 6% compensation above the base salary.
Physical Demands: This role requires both residential and community visits, and employees must be capable of:
- Traveling to and from clients' homes, community sites, and office locations, which may involve using walkways, stairs, and/or elevators.
- Lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs.
