Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team as a Community Outreach Specialist. In this role, you will provide screening assessment and psychiatric nursing services to youth and young adults struggling with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients in meeting personal objectives for improving and maintaining mental health, particularly regarding medication management and compliance.
  • Identify and provide intervention for youth and their families who are experiencing or at risk of developing substance use disorder.
  • Promote, improve, and sustain the overall wellness and physical health of the target population.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a psychiatric nurse in a community-based behavioral health setting.
  • Valid and current Rhode Island Registered Nurse License.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Familiarity with screening/assessment tools, local care coordination resources, and evidence-based practices.
  • Oral and written communication skills at a proficient level, ensuring effective and professional communication.
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention, brief counseling, or case management when determined necessary.
  • Ability to provide psychiatric/medical consultation to staff and/or community providers as appropriate to the position.
  • Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6% above base pay.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel to and from clients' residences, community locations, and office sites, which may include using walkways, stairs, and/or elevators.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
  • Ability to work remotely and in person, adhering to PHI requirements.
  • Ability to adhere to all vaccination requirements necessary to work in a healthcare setting.
