Position Overview


Role Summary: The Youth Support Partner plays a vital role in fostering a supportive environment for young individuals aged 16-21 who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. This position focuses on delivering peer mentorship and guidance, utilizing personal experiences to build genuine connections. The Youth Support Partner is dedicated to offering culturally sensitive services while collaborating with families, community resources, and treatment teams to promote safety, independence, and empowerment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with youth to provide mentorship and support.
  • Utilize lived experiences to establish authentic relationships.
  • Advocate for trauma-informed care and resources.
  • Collaborate with families and community providers to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Facilitate access to community resources and treatment teams.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Personal experience within the LGBTQ+ community and/or involvement in child welfare is essential.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in providing peer support.
  • Commitment to obtaining certification as a Peer Support Specialist within two years of employment.
  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal conflict resolution.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Bilingual candidates will receive an additional 6% compensation above the base salary.
